Garry Goett has an impressive long-term track record of developing master-planned and mixed-use developments that fully integrate the needs and wants of a community with local economics and government entities. Well-known for his ability to create smart, quality growth projects, Goett works hand-in-hand with community and business leaders and government agencies, evidenced by the very successful Southern Highlands master-planned community.
Goett received an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Calgary and a law degree from the University of Toronto. After practicing law for 12 years, Goett founded Olympia Companies and has selectively channeled the company’s resources toward development activities to satisfy the local economy’s need for quality real estate development projects. Together with Executive Vice President Guy Inzalaco, they have grown the company’s current portfolio to include some of the most desirable and high-profile real estate projects in the Las Vegas area, such as the Southern Highlands master-planned community, Southern Highlands Golf Club, Southern Highlands Marketplace, Blue Diamond Centre, Blue Diamond Plaza and many others.
In August 2003, Goett opened Casino Fandango, a tropical-themed locals-oriented casino in Carson City, Nevada to rave reviews. The casino’s immediate success redefined the gaming experience in the Capital City and has since been recognized by visitors, locals, and observers for “doing it right.”
Currently, Goett is directing his team of executives in the development of Skye Canyon, a 1,700 acre master-planned community in Northwest Las Vegas which is the first major residential project to launch in Vegas since the great recession. Also in the works is a 5,300-acre master-planned community in Mesquite/Lincoln County, Nevada. In addition, Olympia is planning and developing gaming projects and retail, residential and commercial projects with an overall goal of creating quality projects while providing significant cash flow and asset value to the company.
